Eter Srl began its journey in 1995 as Mercurio sas, a limited partnership company, owned by two brothers, Marco and Massimo Valente. The aim of the company was to facilitate the purchase of condoms at a time of rapid spread of HIV; The basic idea was to offer a useful solution against the embarrassment of direct sale interactions, by replacing them with a sort of catalog sale. The advent of the web and the arrival of the first internet providers moved the project online. Therefore, in 1998, Eter Srl launched Comodo.it, the first Italian e-commerce dedicated to the sale of condoms. Comodo.it made its first sale on August 1 of the same year.
